Healesville Sanctuary is thrilled to announce the arrival of two beautiful Dingo puppies.
COME AND VISIT THEM! The puppies are on display from 9am until 5pm every day.
View them sleeping or playing in their nursery at the Wildlife Hospital, plus listen out for announcements about daily outdoor play sessions with their keepers.
Bred at the Australian Dingo Conservation Association in the Blue Mountains NSW, the brother and sister are settling into the nursery and getting to know their keepers. They will remain in the nursery for another six weeks before moving to the brand new dramatic rocky high country exhibit, Dingo Country.
The Sanctuary has five adult Dingoes which are walked daily so visitors may be lucky to experience a chance encounter.
Keepers would like to give the Alpine Dingo puppies names which reflect their unique history and pay homage to their traditional home in snow-peaked mountains in the wild. "Our Dingoes have some lovely names derived from plants, locations and treasures indigenous to Australia such as Manuka, Kuma and Opal," Keeper Sue Jaensch said. "It would be wonderful to continue that tradition by finding names linked to the High Country for this adorable pair."
The winner - or winners - will receive a family pass to Healesville Sanctuary and a very special behind-the-scenes experience to meet the Dingo puppies and their keepers.
Entries have now closed. Thank you for all entries. Don't miss this Sundays Herald Sun for the new names.
