THE LATEST ON MANDATORY LABELLING
From the 18-19 August the House of Economics Committee held a public inquiry into the Truth in Labelling -Palm Oil Bill. The Committee presented their findings to the House of Representatives and advised palm oil not to be labelled.
Although we are disappointed, the fight to save orang-utans from extinction in the wild is far from over. Please stay tuned for more information soon.
You can continue to support the issue by writing to your Federal MP with your thoughts on labelling legislation.

Other great ways you can help...
Write to your local Member of Parliament - Tell them what your stance is on palm oil labelling. Ask them what they are doing to help get labelling mandatory.
Write to the manufacturers of your favourite foods - Ask them if they use palm oil and if so whether they source certified sustainable palm oil.(Dont be fooled! Being a member of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil doesn't necessarily mean that they are sourcing certified sustainable palm oil)
